John Lilley and Gillie’s comprehensive range of wind and weather systems starts with the popular and cost-effective Walker 1249 system.
The Walker P 1249 system uses the tried and trusted combined anemometer cup and vane direction sensor, the Walker P296, which gives you robust, compact package accuracy.
The sensor connects directly to a standard Walker P1249 wind speed and direction indicator, which gives digital displays of relative wind speed and direction via our P293B cable (40 metres as standard).
The wind direction is also displayed on a simulated analogue display using OLED technology.
The Walker P1249 indicator interfaces in NMEA 0183/RS422 to other ship systems using the data sentence MWV.
The system operates within a wind speed range of up to 100 knots and in a temperature range between -35 to +70 Celcius.
The Walker P 1249 system fully complies with IEC 60945, IEC 61162-2 and IEC 62288. Although wind systems are not required to be approved, our wind system is covered with a BV certificate.
